H...per, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, Div. C, May 7th 1862" (surname partly unclear), with pencil notes: "Went to war Sep 1862 / Returned home June 1865 / Returned to the R.P.I. Sept 1865". Pencil sketches of figures dated 1862 to 1866 on the front endpaper. Handwritten exam topic notes on the front flyleaf. Handwritten notes on a text page and a handwritten list of plates with page numbers at the rear.

Warren graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1851 and began teaching descriptive geometry and drawing there, becoming professor of descriptive geometry and stereotomy in 1854.

This copy belonged to an RPI student: notes on the front endpaper record leaving for the war in September 1862, returning home in June 1865 and returning to the Institute in September 1865.
