About the author: George Kish is Professor of Geography at the University of Michigan, and the author of numerous books and monographs, both popular and scientific, published in Europe and North America. For many years he has been specializing in the history of geography, map-making, and explorations. His biography of Nordenskiöld is based entirely on original sources from Scandinavia."
