Mr. and Mrs. George Duffy were prominent 20th-century philanthropists and civic figures in Fort Plain, New York. George Duffy (1874–1958) was a major Mohawk Valley industrialist and co-owner of the Duffy Silk Company. His wife, Bertha Dunckel Duffy (1878–1966), was a former educator and high-ranking leader within the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
