Book Notes: Water damage: tide-line staining along the lower edge of the text block, visible on the title page, copyright page, preface and plates. Front and rear hinges cracked with the mesh exposed; binding still holding. Blue cloth boards with Art Nouveau gilt and green hemlock design; gilt bright but cloth rubbed with pale patches and a small dark stain at the lower right of the front board. Rear board soiled and scuffed with a pale mark near the spine. Spine ends frayed and corners worn. Foxing and staining on the front free endpaper and rear endpapers.
